Position Summary
Blackbird Doughnuts is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Catering Sales Manager to drive and grow our catering business. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual to leverage their sales acumen and love for delicious food to expand our market presence. The role combines a small base salary with significant commission potential, offering flexible hours to accommodate a dynamic sales schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation + Prospecting: Identify and actively pursue new catering opportunities through various channels, including cold calling, networking events, local business outreach, social media, and existing client referrals.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their catering experiences exceed expectations.
- Sales Process Management: Manage the entire sales cycle from initial inquiry and proposal generation to contract negotiation and closing.
- Custom Order Development: Collaborate with clients to create customized doughnut and beverage catering packages that perfectly suit their event needs, budget, and dietary considerations.
- Achieve Sales Targets: Meet and exceed established monthly and quarterly catering sales goals.
- Market Research: Stay informed about local market trends, competitor offerings, and potential growth areas for catering.
- Event Coordination: Work closely with the Blackbird production and operations teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment, delivery, and client satisfaction.
- Brand Ambassador: Enthusiastically represent Blackbird Doughnuts at all times, embodying our brand values and commitment to quality and customer service.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and progress towards goals using [CRM system if applicable, or specify Excel/Google Sheets].
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in catering, hospitality, food service, or event management.
- Demonstrated ability to generate leads, build client relationships, and close sales.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and thrive in a flexible, results-driven environment.
- Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).
- A genuine passion for food, particularly doughnuts, and a desire to represent the Blackbird brand.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally for client meetings and events.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends, as client and event schedules require.
- Must have a valid driver's license (personal car preferred)
Compensation
- Base Salary: A competitive base salary
- Commission: Generous commission structure based on achieved sales, offering significant earning potential. Details of the commission plan will be discussed during the interview process.
- Total on target earnings estimated between $80k-$140k
